A friend made for me a beautiful mobile of all natural objects (mainly drift-wood, leaves and seeds... all bound with hemp). When I was moving out of town I wondered what I could do with it. It was too precious to throw away, and too fragile to attempt to pack into a box. So I climbed a tree that grew over a high-traffic walk way and hung it there. Almost two years later it still hangs there, only slightly worn from two years worth of rain. I wonder how many people have seen it there and paused to think.
When I hung it I was already inspired... now that I have seen it still there, I am going to make more mobiles, and hang them in different trees around town, directly over walk ways, to be seen and provoke thought and perhaps inspiration. A gift to the tree and a gift to humanity. Have fun.

Re: Decorating Nature with Nature
Tue, November 8, 2005 - 11:52 AMI like to place beautiful shells that I've gathered and place them in nooks of trees or cliffs far far away from the ocean.....
Someone in my town puts up painted wood signs on a couple of residential streets that say things like "choose Love" or "love heals".
I love comming across these cute little signs, it makes my day. -
